The seminar took place October 3 to 10, 2010 in various cities in Portugal: Ovar, Aveiro, Porto and Avintes. GREEN WAVE, the host organization, dealing with environment, sustainable development and also organizes activities for children after school.
The other organizations were concerned mainly with the management of youth centers to support children and young families in need. We were a large group of delegates from Spain, Poland, Malta, Hungary, Slovakia. There were also organizations from the framework UROMED E: Palestine, Israel and Jordan.
The seminar was held with a fair bal gaps between work activities on the theme of poverty, moments of leisure and visit to the city. Free time there is not to know the country, but perhaps a little 'more work would have benefited not only the project itself, but also the integration of the group. E 'was certainly an interesting for us c h and repeated in the future no doubt, but if we have to lament, and some lack of organization, it was the lack of opportunities for discussion with the whole group. It would be very interesting indeed discuss with delegates from all countries to get to know them better, since the origins of other organizations were so different.
Before leaving for Portugal, we have prepared a presentation on lla p overt in Italy, particularly using Istat indicators on youth unemployment and social services. We also interviewed the children to know what they thought of poverty. The result of our work in Portugal was rather a handbook that will soon be made up and that should provide informa tion on the situation of each country and integrate the strategies that we made during the group work and discussions.
